Platinum Arts Sandbox is an open source easy to use standalone Free 3D Game Maker and 3D Game Design program currently being used in many schools throughout the world that allows kids and adults to create their own video games, worlds, levels, adventures and quests, even cooperatively! The goal is to make it accessible to kids but also powerful enough for full game projects. With a simple click and roll of a mouse wheel users can modify the world however they want. In the words of Meg, a nine year old Sandbox, “Press Edit and go fulfill your dreams!”. Now features new game modes such as sidescroller, machinima, kartmode, RPG, and more! As a note a new webpage is in the works at but the old webpage is still available. NOTE: The offsite links below might not be kid friendly.   We have a ton of goodies for you in this new release dubbed 2.3. You can download it here
Here are the awesome new features!
* New 3D sidescroller Mario like mode! Also there is a seperate RPG project, check the wiki!
* Hotkeys that make it easier to save games, add materials, and lots more!
* New in game help section that displays all of the binds/key commands!
* Snow has been tweaked and updated :) Be sure to check out the new version of house :D
* Maps now generate cfgs on save! Also many various map tweaks.
* New main menu theme! To try other themes check out the options menu.
* Loads of new textures and new player skins.
* Tons of under the hood bug fixes and features.
* Thanks to ZKAT of virtualdarkarts.net there is a brand new great looking launcher!

Doom 3 Coop News - From The Light Comes A Darkness |

Thought LMS was finished? Guess again! We have lots of updates for you including the possibility of a major improvement coming to your Doom 3 Coop experience! We first would like to give a massive congratulations to AO! He now works at Slash Damage working on Quake Wars! If I had a hat it would certainly be off for this great Coder, Team Member and GDC companion. You can read more about that here. In addition thanks to The Master the Last Man Standing theme is now playable on Guitar Hero! We hope to have the files out to you soon but if you want a taste of it in action, check out the video!
And finally there is some behind the scenes work happening at LMS. I don't want to give it away in case it doesn't end up turning out how we expect, but if it does happen your Doom 3 Coop experience will be significantly improved :) In honor of this we are going to be releasing a video of LMS Doom 3 Coop action every day for the next two months. The final one will feature a special surprise :D They will be featured here daily. Enjoy our first video as it includes something never seen yet in Doom 3, battle across water!
