Hellsing - Season 1 (there is only one total I believe)

Synopsis - Hellsing (which I believe is a pun on Helsing) is about a British Agency called Hellsing that protects the country from vampires. The troops and leaders are mainly humans with specialized weapons but there are a few vampires that help out too. Chief among them is a vampire named Alucard. His past is constantly in question and it is obvious from the first episode that he is no ordinary vampire.

Review - Some of the episodes were really boring. Also a lot of times the focus is on a female character who I did not find interesting at all. However when Alucard was actually a part of the scene, he totally took it over. His character is very interesting and made me hunger to learn more about him. In the first episode he makes it clear that he is different from other vampires because while fighting a seemly powerful one he mocks the vampire and tells him how unworthy he is to be vampire. I would love to go into further detail about other ways in which he is different but I don't want to spoil anything. Let's just say that he has a few interesting abilities.

Rating (out of four stars) - *** If there was more of Alucard it definitely would have received four stars.
