Author Introduction: In these clips of the week I am mainly going to be sharing with you bits of stories that are from a fantasy world that I've had in my head since highschool. Eventually I would like to turn the clips into something, such as a cartoon, comic or a movie. When I write the clips it will be mainly to express a scene or a scenario, not a perfect piece of english mastery, so when I post it will generally be unedited, unfiltered. I hope you enjoy it and let me know what you think!

Platinum Arts Clip Of The Week #1 (Created 2/24/07):

“Sir, who are you,” asked the guard.
“Get out of my face,” said the man who brushed past him, the man's cloak waving past him. The guard gave him a strange look and then decided it would be better off not to pursue it. The guard towered over the man but it was the look in the man's eye. The fierce blue eyes blazing in their sockets seemed to have no patience and were ready to let loose at any moment. The man continued down the village block, his eyes darting back and forth as if he was looking for something. The man then spotted the tavern and walked in. He walked up to the barkeep and asked “Do you know a girl by the name of Ashlynn?”
“Why, whose asking?” the barkeep replied.
“I asked you a question, give me an answer,” the man replied in a flat tone, his gaze was so piercing it is a wonder it didn't make a hole in the barkeeps head. The barkeep stepped backwards and was visibly shaken. His hands were starting to tremble.
“Now sir please relax, I didn't mean any harm,” said the barkeep.
“Am I stuttering? I have just asked a simple question,” replied the man.
“She's over there,” the barkeep replied and pointed to a table where a girl with strawberry blond hair sat with a husky older man. The man looked to be in his forties and his complexion reminded the man of a bear. The man walked over to the table and said “Excuse me, are you Ashlynn?”
The bear of a man looked at the man with his dark black eyes with an _expression_ of extreme caution.
“What is your business with her,” replied the bear of a man, a defensive and threatening tone was in his voice.
“Oh please, not you too. This town seems to be filled with people who lack of curtsy. It is a simple question with a simple answer. However, if it is a fight that you'd like, I can oblige,” He then opened up his coat to reveal a sash that had what looked like several foot long pointed tusks.
“What are those? Fakes? Did you buy them from a shop to try to use to scare people?” asked the bear like man.
“They are dragon claws,” said the man.
“No way, I don't believe you, how would someone such as you have acquired such things?”
“They are from a dragon that I killed two weeks ago. Now is this Ashlynn? I must speak to her immediately!”
“How did you manage such a thing?” the bearlike man began muttering in obvious shock of what he had just heard. The girl who had been sitting there listening intently finally spoke up.
“Yes I am Ashlynn, what is your business with me? If you intend me to hurt me, I might be no dragon, but this is a public setting, you surely wouldn't get away with it.”
“Ah, Ashlynn! Finally I have found you. I wish that all of this foreplay could have been avoided, look at how much time it is wasted! My name is Balek and I've been asked to come here and see you through the next couple of days.”
“Who asked you to come here?” asked Ashlynn.
“He of your dreams.” replied Balek. He then took a chair from a nearby table and pulled it close to Ashlynn's table, much to the discomfort for the bear like man.
“Who is your friend here?”
“His name is Baren, he takes care of me,”
“Ah, I see,” said Balek with a smirk.
“No, not like that, he has taken me in since I recently became homeless,”
“Yes I am aware of that, that is why I am here....”
“What? Have you heard anything about my parents? I must know if they could still be alive!”
“That I don't know but I would highly doubt it. The man that attacked the village is not one for mercy. It is because of him that I am here. Destroying your village alone wasn't enough to satisfy his revenge. He is now bent on razing Annfunais to the ground.”
“No, it can't be, what will we do?”
“Fight.”
“How can you know all of this. Are you in bed with Os'quai?” asked Baren.
“For that comment I should remove your head,” sharply responded Balek. He looked like a man possessed and Ashlynn had no doubt he meant what he said. Baren backed down and held his tongue.
“Ashlynn how are you feeling? I need to know if you can fight and run if you need to.” asked Balek.
“Baren has been teaching me how to use a spear and short swords. I think in a pinch I could hold my own. My wounds have been healing up. It still hurts to run but I think I could run if I need to.”
“Exercise. Prepare. Os'quai is already finishing his preparations for his attack. I will visit you again tomorrow.”
“Where are you going?” asked Ashlynn.
“To rest, it has been a long trip.” said Balek.
“Baren owns the inn if you want to rent a room,” Baren visibly showed his disapproval of the idea.
“No. I will be fine.”
At this he got up and walked out of the tavern, much to the barkeeps relief. He left the town and found a spot of land that was heavily covered in long grass. He looked at the ground and made a motion with his hands like he was pulling apart something invisible. The ground opened up and made a hole barely large enough to fit Balek. He climbed in the hole and the ground closed up around him so that just his head was above the surface. He closed his eyes and went to sleep.

His dreams brought him to Os'quai. Deep in the caverns he could hear the sounds of armor and weapons clanking. He saw a large group of men packing their horses, readily food and extra weapons. To Balek it seemed that they were even more prepared than he had expected. They seemed ready to arrive in a day or two. Balek started to sweat as he realized the urgency of the situation. “This is not good, I must prepare,” thought Balek.
